SAE

Since 2013, The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Collegiate Club has been functioning successfully in our college. Presently, the club has around 150 members from various department and 4 faculty advisors. The club is very keen in encouraging the young minds in the fields of automotive engineering. The SAE club provides opportunities for its members to build their intellectual knowledge in by way of organizing various workshops, seminars, guest lectures, technical contest etc., and a national level inter college technical contest “Raksha” is organized with a great success every year. We are proud that every year our club members participate and win in the student convention of SAE INDIA to bring laurels to our club. In this connection we are motivating our student members to participate in many of the national level events like SAEINDIA BAJA, SAE INDIA SUPRA, SOLARKART, MINIBIKE etc., and SAE Southern Section awarded our club with the Best Club Display Award among Southern section level. In additional to the above our faculty and student members received the Best Faculty Advisor Award, SEC post, Kalpana Chawala Award etc., these are the laurels to our club.

Mission:

To provide Strong Technical Knowledge for the student members and encourage them to build up their interpersonal skills.

Inauguration of SAEINDIA SSMIET Collegiate Club

Inauguration of SAEINDIA SSMIET Collegiate Club association on 12th August – 2013 by Mr. B. Kannan, SKBR Auto Pvt Ltd. Madurai, along with Mr. K. Shanmugavel, Executive Director, Dr. R. Chandran, Campus Director &Mr. Ramesh, and HoD/Automobile set the backdrop for the club by lightening the lamp. Dr. R. Chandran, Campus Director praised the initiatives taken up by the SAEINDIA SSMIET COLLEGIATE CLUB headed by the Faculty Advisor Mr. M. HariPrasath in forging strong relationship with the SAE INTERNATIONAL CLUB. He also commended the efforts of SAEINDIA SSMIET COLLEGIATE CLUB to make this venture successful, Now Mr.M.Nagendran was handling SAE club of very fine stream line to to enrich mobility knowledge to students

Every year SAE club was conducted varies type of programme enrich Student knowledge to meet the industrial requirement,

  1. RAKSHA -2014 July 21st and 22nd , SAE conducted technical program, Names called RAKSHA, more than 150 students was participated from various technical institute from Tamilnadu
  2. SAEISS KRT-On August 2, 2014, SAEINDIA, the premier professional society and the largest affiliate of SAE International, USA, launched the Knowledge Round Table focusing on Teaching Learning process that took place at SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul.
  3. SAE Trek- It was a unique two day programme which is a blend of adventure and learning on 3rd and 4th August 2014 at Thandigudi hiils
  4. Making and Running of Go-kart and MiniBike- March 22nd 2015 give idea to develop bike and racing car
  5. SKIP (Student Knowledge Improvement Programme) -13 & 14 February 2015 at SSMIET campus
  6. Calibration of Fuel Injection pump- 14th March at SSMIET campus
  7. SAEISS successfully conducted the lecture meeting on April 4th, 2016 at SSMIET premises.
  8. SAEISS successfully conducted the Faculty Advisors forum on March 26th & 27th, 2016 at SSMIET premises.
  9. A National Level off road vehicle Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at NaTRiP-Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, by SAEINDIA on Feb 16-23, 2016
  10. RIDE 14 – National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at Karpagam college of Engineering, Coimbatore in association with SAEINDIA on 4th October 2014
  11. S. Nasurudheen of final year Automobile engineering – SSMIET has been selected for “THE STUDENT SECTION AWARD – 2014”.

 

  1. SAE INDIA BAJA 2017-A National Level off road vehicle Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition virtual round was conducted at Chitkara University, Chandigarh Patiala National Highway (NH-64), Punjab, by SAEINDIA on 10th and 11th.Our SAE Students from Automobile Engineering Department have participated in this prestigious event and Presented preplanning of BALA 2017.
  2. RIDE 17 – National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at Karpagam college of Engineering, Coimbatore in association with SAEINDIA on 22th September 2017. Our Students from Automobile Engineering have participated in this competition and won the 1st Prize in Solar bike event and Second prize in 80CC bike event categories and Overall Championship Award, Duro Nachiyar award was secure by Pro.R.Rajavel AP/AUE in this year. Our students are the staying champions for the past five year
  3. AUTO FEST 17 – National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at Karpagavinayagam University Chennai in association with SAEINDIA on 2nd of September 2017
  4. AUTO FEST 17 – National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at Karpagavinayagam University Chennai in association with SAEINDIA on 2nd of September 2017. Our Students from Automobile Engineering have participated in this competition and won the 1st Prize in Solar bike event bike event categories and Overall Championship Award,
  5. Motorage 2017– National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted at Annai Vailankanni College of Engineering, Kaniyakumari dist Association with SAEINDIA on 31st of August 2017. Our Students from Automobile Engineering have participated in this competition and won the 1st Prize in Solar bike event bike event categories and Overall Championship Award,
  6. GOKART-International F9 Go karting championship –competition was conducted Koshi motor, Bhobal (MP) India with association of SAEINDIA on 6th to 8th of September 2017. Our Students from Automobile Engineering have participated in this competition, preparation was very fine manner done by our students.
  7. The Futura 2K17 is the National level Tech Fest of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology encouraging fresh ideas from ambitious youngsters of the student community. It has been scheduled for the 7th, 8th and 9th on the month of September, 2017.
  8. RENNEN 2K17 is a National level Mini bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest conducted SSM Institute of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul. RENNEN 2K17 is the first event in Dindigul to be conducted exclusively for mini bikes.
  9. On October 6th and 7th 2017, there was conducted SAE tier 1 event at our College, Our SAE students member was participated many event, who got first place there are eligible to participate tier 2 event. Winner was received merit certificate From SAE India.
  10. On January 3rd 2018, Tier 2 (Divisional level) events there were conducted SAE India Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy. Who got first place there are eligible to participate tier 3 (South India Level event Winner was received merit certificate From SAE India.

FACTORY VISITS:

Factory visits were conducted for the benefit of student members and faculty members. Factory visits along with excursion were conducted and those are

  1. ARAI, Pune
  2. Maruthi Suzuki, Haryana
  3. India piston Chennai
  4. TVS motor company Hosur

 

Cash awards:

So far at various National Level Mini Bike Design, Fabrication and Racing contest competition was conducted in overall Tamilnadu student association with SAEINDIA. Our Students from Automobile Engineering have participated in this competition and won the prizes of Rs. 2,00,000/-(two Lakhs)  and Overall Championship Award also. it is a unique feature of SSMIET.
