MEGA MATH FEST “PLAY WITH MATH”

To encourage young learners to get involved in math, to dispel math phobia and create a love for the subject, to perceive the connection of mathematical concepts with real life situations, were the primary objectives of the “Play with Math” celebrations that was in perfect sync with the objectives of our very own Born Genius Ramanujan Math club. The resounding success of the celebrations is the outcome of tireless efforts put in by the resource team comprising of students and maths faculty members, ably guided by the head of the department and well supported by the principal, Director and the management.

Mega Math Fest- “Play with Math” was celebrated in SSMIET, Dindigul from 4th to 8th February, 2019 across all branches.

On Day 1 (04.02.2019), the events conducted were ‘Math Billionaire’ and ‘Paper Presentation’ where more than 50 students actively participated. For ‘Paper Presentation’ event Dr.G.Sankaranarayanan, HOD/ Mechanical, Mr.D.Manoj, AP/ EEE and Dr.K.Renganathan, AP/Mathematics were invited as the jury. Students presented various papers regarding the application of Mathematics in Engineering.

On Day 2 (05.02.2019), the events conducted were ‘Math Debugging’ and ‘Math Rangoli’ where more than 60 students actively participated. For ‘Math Rangoli’ event Dr.P.Booma Devi, HOD/EEE, Ms.T.Leela Priyadharsini, AP/ ECE and Mrs.S.Kavitha, AP/Mathematics were invited as the juries. Students gained knowledge to find the logical errors in solving math problems by participating in the event “Math Debugging”.
