The Department of English works with a vision to develop language skills with a special focus on the productive skills of the language. The students are exposed to the rudiments of language learning and acquisition. 100% result is achieved in several sections in all the semester exams which in turn testifies the efficacy of the teaching – learning process.

The Department of English plays a pivotal role in producing Engineers equipped with English language skills, which will help them emerge successful in today’s competitive scenario. The department has several initiatives to nurture and hone the communication skills and the department offers a special communication skills programme to the sophomores. This programme focuses on the art of public speaking, event management, presentation skills and personality development.

State of the art infrastructure

The department is equipped with a fully furnished language laboratory that accommodates 60 learners at a time. The full fledged computer-based laboratory provides an excellent opportunity to enhance language competency through various self-learning packages that are student friendly. The laboratory with audio visual gadgets also has a presentation hall with audio visual facilities that can house 40 students.  These facilities provide the students the edge when it comes to the usage of various gadgets in making the presentations more lively and interesting.
